California Supreme Court disbars John Eastman

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday permanently disbarred John Eastman, ordering his name stricken from the roll of attorneys and denying his final petition to keep a law license. The court found Eastman violated multiple attorney ethics rules by drafting a plan for then-Vice President Mike Pence to block certification of Joe Biden’s 2020 victory and by filing what it called "patently false and misleading" voter fraud claims in court filings. The ruling affirms earlier California bar tribunal findings that recommended permanent disbarment and bars Eastman from practicing law anywhere in the state.
