Waterspout spotted over Puget Sound near Seattle

A waterspout formed over Puget Sound off Seattle during afternoon storms, with observers placing the funnel a few miles north of the city. Photos and video posted to Reddit captured the waterspout from University of Washington and downtown Seattle vantage points. Witnesses also reported unusually large hail and lightning in downtown Seattle during the same storm. The images circulated on social media show the full funnel over open water but do not include any accompanying official damage reports.
