Special Weather Statements warn of damaging gusts and hail tonight

The National Weather Service issued Special Weather Statements on April 15 from NWS Binghamton NY at 9:50 PM EDT, NWS Tulsa OK at 8:48 PM CDT, NWS Norman OK at 8:47 PM CDT, and NWS Boise ID at 7:46 PM MDT for radar-indicated storms. Forecasters reported wind gusts between 50 and 55 miles per hour and penny-size hail accompanying the storms across New York, Oklahoma, and Idaho. NWS warned the gusts could topple unsecured outdoor items, damage roofing, and create hazardous driving conditions, and urged residents to secure property and monitor local updates.
