Minnesota to run statewide tornado drills at 1:45 and 6:45 today

Minnesota will sound outdoor warning sirens statewide at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. today as part of the annual Severe Weather Awareness Week tornado drills organized by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and the National Weather Service. The 1:45 p.m. drill is aimed at schools, businesses and other institutions to test workplace and school response plans during business hours. The 6:45 p.m. drill is aimed at the general public so households can practice sheltering and review emergency procedures ahead of spring severe weather.
