Blue Sky Art Show theme 'Edge' draws photography, illustration and mixed-media work

The Blue Sky Art Show's weekly prompt "Edge" collected cross-continental submissions including ylamurto's "cliff riding" mountainbike video, a seagull photo at Amsterdam Centraal, and a Neist Point Lighthouse image from Scotland. Contributors from New Zealand shared early-autumn leaf photography, and one artist posted an early draft of infrared aerial photos taken through an airplane window. Photographers emphasized literal edges such as coastlines, station platforms and cliff tops while illustrators and mixed-media artists explored architectural framing and abstract margins. Posts used the #BlueSkyArtShow hashtag to centralize finished pieces and works-in-progress for the theme.

An image of Beauly Priory. Likely built around 1230, only the exterior walls remain standing.

Shot looking towards one of the narrow ends of the building, the side walls are fairly straight at the top while the back wall rises to support the peaked roof which is long since gone. The stones are a mix of reddish-brown, grey, and nearly black.

Several tall grave stones stand inside the stone building. The floor is uneven with moss and lichen grow between (and on) flagstones and grave markers. Everything is damp with rainfall.

Through the doorway the green grass of the yard and two grave stones are visible. Three windows are arranged with the middle opening set higher than the two flanking it. Large leafy green trees are seen through the windows and the open roof. The sky is a dark stormy grey.
