Driver Juha Miettinen killed in Nürburgring crash
During Race 1 of the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, 66-year-old Juha Miettinen died after a seven-car pileup in the Klostertal section. Miettinen was driving the No. 121 Keeevin BMW 325i and emergency responders took him to the track Medical Centre, where resuscitation attempts failed. Race officials red flagged and abandoned Race 1 within the first half hour and reported multiple other drivers sustained injuries.
