Paula Blasi solos to surprise win at Amstel Gold Race

Paula Blasi, 23, soloed to victory in the Amstel Gold Race Ladies in Valkenburg, claiming her first WorldTour one-day win for UAE Team ADQ. Blasi launched her decisive solo on the Cauberg with about 22 kilometers to go and rode clear of a peloton that included five former winners. Kasia Niewiadoma finished second and Demi Vollering finished third behind Blasi. Blasi had been added to UAE Team ADQ's start list only the day before the race because of late absences, making the upset more surprising.
