Final Fantasy XIV expands free trial to include Shadowbringers
Square Enix will expand Final Fantasy XIV's free trial on April 28, 2026 to include the Shadowbringers expansion, raising the trial's playable level cap to 80. The trial will now cover the base game A Realm Reborn plus the first three expansions, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers, letting new accounts reach level 80 without buying expansions. That grants trial players access to Shadowbringers' full main scenario, its level-80 jobs, zones, and raids. The change lets newcomers judge the game's mid-to-late story and endgame content before purchasing and lets returning players test level-80 content for free.
every new expac they add to ff14 puts hrothgals closer and closer to being part of the free trial. then and only then, will I play the game that will probably be mostly dead by that point.
Punchy29since multiple have already misunderstood this. i mean I would like to play as a female hrothgar. you cannot do this without buying dawntrail because ff14 makes the bizarre and kind of stupid decision of locking specific genders for specific races behind expansions. hence. the wait.
