New Steam Controller divides gamers ahead of May launch

Valve will release its next-generation Steam Controller on May 4 priced at £85/$99. The pad works with Windows PCs, the Steam Deck handheld, and Valve's upcoming gaming PC. Valve says Steam Deck 2 remains in development but that RAM and storage shortages constrain progress, noting "There’s only so much we can do." At that price and timing, the controller could complicate buyers' decisions between a standalone pad and Valve's handhelds, with adoption hinging on performance and software support.

I think we should see a Steam controller release in a week or two given that review leak I expect a release date announcement for the new hardware will drop around the same time because their window to pre-market the damn things is closing If they still intend a 2026 release, anyway
