Stefon Diggs found not guilty of assault and strangulation

A Massachusetts jury on Tuesday acquitted former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs of strangulation and assault charges in an altercation with his former private chef. Jurors deliberated roughly 90 minutes before returning the not guilty verdict after the chef said Diggs choked and struck him during a dispute over pay. Diggs was visibly emotional and wept in court when the verdict was read. The acquittal clears Diggs of criminal liability but he remains subject to NFL personal conduct review and the outcome could influence his free agent prospects.
