Standing in Mark Carney's office Friday morning, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith told Mark Carney that Albertans and industry are "impatient" and urged Ottawa to finalize a memorandum of understanding soon. Smith said she and Carney made significant progress resolving terms for a west coast pipeline and carbon pricing and expressed confidence the agreement could be completed before Alberta's west coast submission to the Major Projects Office. A finalized memorandum would set federal-provincial rules on project approval and carbon-pricing credits, shaping investment timelines and Alberta's ability to advance the pipeline project.
