NFL owners voted unanimously to award Super Bowl LXIV to Nashville, selecting the new Nissan Stadium to host the game in February 2030. The $2.2 billion Nissan Stadium will open downtown in February 2027, giving the city about three years to prepare. Owners approved the site Tuesday at the league's spring meeting in Orlando. The Super Bowl will bring major national attention and an economic boost to Nashville, while game-week events and the halftime show are organized by the NFL and have featured national headliners rather than local artists.

I drove past it last night, its a monstrosity right next to a super crash highway in a city with grossly inadequate public transportation & affordable housing. Kids in rural communities don't always have buses to sporting events so super important we're subsidizing it.

The discourse over the Nashville Super Bowl halftime show is already overblown. Other than the logo and signage, the other aspects of the game rarely reflect the host city. Prince did the halftime show in Miami, not Minneapolis. Springsteen didn’t do MetLife Stadium. It’s gonna be alright.
