Siouxsie Sioux celebrates 69th birthday

Siouxsie Sioux, born Susan Janet Ballion, turned 69 on May 27. As lead singer of Siouxsie and the Banshees she fronted landmark tracks such as the debut single "Hong Kong Garden" and performed memorable live shows, including a sweltering set at Brisbane's Livid Festival in 1993. The band's DVD "At The BBC" compiles live sessions filmed for The Old Grey Whistle Test and Oxford Road Show, showcasing her theatrical goth aesthetic. Her blend of punk energy, dramatic vocals, and visual style influenced generations of alternative musicians and remains a touchstone for goth and post-punk fashion.
