Dylan Larkin requests trade from Detroit Red Wings
Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin, 29, has requested a trade from the team, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports. Larkin has spent 11 seasons in Detroit as the club's No. 1 center and has made just one playoff appearance. His departure would open the market for a top NHL center and give Detroit a pathway to acquire younger players or draft assets as it reshapes its roster.
Absolutely speechless. Instantly becomes the top player on the trade market and absolutely changes the Red Wings' offseason plan. Good thing I wasn't going to start writing my "If I Were Steve Yzerman" until this weekend
It seems like McLellan and Yzerman have consistently questioned the leadership in the room. Maybe moving him out is the culture change the team needs. let this be Mo and Raymond’s team.
This is the best thing for the Red Wings. Gives them all kinds of options with getting younger, acquiring draft assets, properly aligns the timeline around Raymond and Seider. Mo gets the C now.
So Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has reportedly requested a trade from Detroit 🤔 www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/...
I wonder if he'd be interested in playing with a demigod?
I’ve always thought he was a really good player… but if Yzerman is a “not trading you inside my division” type, I wouldn’t get too excited. His old buddy Verbeek has Macintosh who wants out too… maybe there’s a swap coming who knows.
Yzerplan taking too long. Seeing Habs, Sabres and Sens ahead with other teams like Florida being healthy next season he isn’t sold.
