Masters of the Universe opened with an estimated $11.75M Friday and is tracking toward a near $30M domestic opening weekend as the reboot hits theaters. Fans are producing a surge of artwork, comics, animatics, edits, and cosplay centered on Adam/He-Man, Jared Leto’s Skeletor, and Battlecat. Creators reimagine key action beats and character introductions across chibi illustrations, fully rendered key art, short animatics, and live-action costume posts while many pieces lean into nostalgia for the Filmation series and the 1987 film.

Just watched the original Masters Of The Universe. It got panned by fans back in the day for bearing little resemblance to the beloved cartoon series, but if you watch it in isolation of that and review it on its own merits, you’ll find that it’s 116minutes of absolute shite

I remember watching Scary Movie 1 in theatre waaay back when it I usually released. It was the first time I ever regretted spending money on a ticket and found myself impatient for a movie to end. Battlefield Earth got a lot more laughs and entertainment, and it wasn't trying to be a comedy!

Watched #MastersOfTheUniverse this morning. Properly good. Really enjoyed it, it's a loving homage to the Filmation series/'87 film & deserves to do well. But I can see the toxic crowd PROPERLY hating it. Sod 'em. Immediately picked up He-Man & Battlecat from the B&M opposite the Cinema... 😅
