At the Monaco Grand Prix weekend stewards issued five-second pit-lane speeding penalties to several drivers, including Oscar Piastri, Pierre Gasly, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton and Franco Colapinto. Lewis Hamilton received his five-second penalty on lap 34 of 78 and George Russell was handed a five-second penalty on lap 38; Franco Colapinto was the third driver penalized. Those five-second additions reshuffled gaps and altered podium and points prospects on the tight Monaco street circuit, where small pit-lane time penalties frequently change finishing order.
