Final Fantasy Resonance devs publish video on HD‑2D approach

Square Enix released a developer video saying Final Fantasy Resonance is built in an HD-2D art style and repackages Final Fantasy Brave Exvius material into a standalone game. Developers said they overhauled the story, rebuilt the world map, and changed systems so the project reads as a rebirth rather than a direct port, calling FFBE "too good to become unplayable." The studio outlined how HD-2D blends pixel-art characters with modern lighting and depth to update classic Final Fantasy visuals. a lil more info: - producer Keisuke Nakashima + director Hiroto Furuya love FFV and it shows - Team Asano advised - story is an adaptation of Brave Exvius' first season with new unique story stuff, everything else built from the ground up - said to be 30-40 hours mainline, 60-80 for completionists

I’ve worked on a lot of games in my PR career, but I'm extra excited about this one. FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is the first HD-2D FF game and has turn-based battles, summons, chocobos, moogles, airships… basically my dream game. This is something special and I think you all will love it. 😊
