Egypt secures first-ever World Cup win, beats New Zealand 3-1

Mohamed Salah’s 67th-minute strike in Vancouver’s BC Place gave Egypt a 3-1 comeback win over New Zealand, securing the Pharaohs’ first-ever World Cup victory. Finn Surman opened the scoring in the 15th minute, Mostafa Ziko equalized in the 58th, Salah put Egypt ahead in the 67th, and Trézéguet finished the scoring in the 82nd. The win moves Egypt to four points and top of Group G, significantly improving their chances of reaching the knockout stage while New Zealand remain on one point.
