Robert Eggers debuts Werwulf trailer
The official trailer for Robert Eggers’ Werwulf starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe and Lily-Rose Depp is here 👀 🐺 In theaters December 25. Add to your watchlist ➡️ boxd.it/SC72
I appreciate that Robert Eggers makes Christmas movies.
The issue I have is, while they should be watched in the cinema, I feel it should be a tiny backwater small screen with a real film projection & a small crowd. Treat it like some new discovered film from long ago we have been warned about watching
Can movies be viewed intravenously
Oh, great … yet another movie that shows the medieval era as spattered with mud, with no color whatsoever, and people weren’t clean. Oh, and the dark filter to make it all look even more miserable. Medieval peasants wore bright colors and kept themselves clean. @fakehistoryhunter.net
it's time to rewatch nosferatu
People bitching and moaning about historical accuracy in Eggers films are insane people, I don't know any other directors going to active dig sites to find material goods to put in their films
Despite feeling a little betrayed that they chickened out on using middle english (which would have been box office poison and severely limited what they could actually say, so I get it) I'm still unreasonably rabid for this
Can’t wait for body horror werewolf sex can’t wait to be grinning ear to ear in the theater.
This is based on my poem "Awoooo Goes the Werewolf" which I debuted on my facebook back in 2011. Rob seems to have taken a few liberties but it does have the overall werewolf tone I was going for.
parece fugir totalmente do romantismo de monstro frígido, aqui ele tá apelando pra criar o filme mais sujo do mundo
YES, WEREWOLF CHRISTMAS, LET’S GO
Whoa! Looks hardcore, I'm loving it.
This looks wild! Can’t wait to see it
This looks great, but I continue to have questions about this man's work. The lack of anyone who isn't white and European. The violence towards women. I've always landed on his whole thing being an indictment of white Euro-male centered culture. But that's me putting that in it.
Oh, gothic horror, my beloved. I’m so ready for this.
This looks like another Eggers Christmas delight.
"ugh another old stuff horror movie from Robert Eggers ugh" you wish you loved anything so deeply and productively
I'm genuinely shocked his stuff is so popular as it is pitched so down the center at my wife and I that I don't entirely know what everyone else is doing in the theater
People who can’t grasp the concept of an oeuvre get the art they deserve
I also love him because I thought The VVitch was a fucking masterpiece and then I watched a video with excerpts from his commentary and the whole thing is just nitpicking everything and being incredibly hard on himself There’s something very comforting about that for me
sorry robert eggers is for film perverts, if they can't hang, that's not on me
I dunno, I'll reserve judgement for when I see it but this clip didn't sell me on it
oh no two interesting hours that comes along once every several years
genuinely love watching that weird little man light studio money on fire and I'll be seated front and center every time he does it
I think the beauty of Robert Eggers' hyperfixation is a bunch of creative people get disheartened because they think: 'I draw/write/create the same subject over and over and won't people get bored?' (I am also guilty!) But Eggers proves that people love the things you love and they'll want more.
Film discourse has been filled with people complaining about filmmakers and especially directors not having enough distinct voices and vision, but whenever one comes along eventually people have reactions like this because familiarity breeds contempt. 😂
yes. yes i do. god how i crave it.
I have not seen an Eggers yet that I didn't walk away from going "well, that was a fucking blast." He knows what he is, he knows what he likes, and he does it pretty damn well. I'm a fan.
i support eggers 100% because this is exactly what i love too
Be ungovernable. Have a sicko brand
robert egger's director's commentary for The VVitch is 90% him being like "ugh the style of stitching on that shirt wasn't invented until 1640, and the firewood he's chopping is the wrong kind of tree"
I'm excited for Eggers's new movie and my one regret is I won't be able to see it in theaters. Guy has a style, let him use it lol.
First trailer for Robert Eggers' ‘Werwulf’ 🐺 In theaters on December 25
YOU MUST HOWL ON IT, CRAZY-STYLE
Ya know, Christmas! The Best day to release a Horror Movie! XD
ROBERT EGGERS COOKS ONCE AGAIN! I AM SO FUCKING SEATED!
Fuck this looks so good
im seated. the theater employees are scared and asking me to leave because its "not out yet" but im simply too seated
anticipation will get the best of me
Hell yeah dude. Helly YEAH dude. HELL yeah.
Eggers e sua deliciosa tradição natalina de trazer filmes para toda a família
hoping Period Film About Night Creature becomes a new christmas tradition
First Nosferatu, now this. I think Eggers might be on a mission to make me care about Christmas.
This looks traumatic....I'll be seated
I'm not convinced putting this out a week after Doomsday, and Dune 3 will be doing it any favours. I liked Nosferatu well enough, but this looks more up my street.
YESSSS this looks soooo good
Eggers giving me another Christmas Day horror film knowing I can't watch it day one because that's always family stuff is some sort of hate crime against me personally 😭
The visuals of Robert Eggers' ‘WERWULF’ Shot on 35mm film, with grain structure of a black & white film added onto color film.
Do not dread the darkness. Embrace it. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nosferatu) undergoes a bestial metamorphosis in the first trailer for Robert Eggers’ WERWULF. In theaters on Christmas Day.
Wild how back then they just didn’t live in color
Does it come out on Christmas because of the legend that a child born on Christmas Day will become a werewolf?
They definitely embraced the darkness because it’s kinda hard to see a lot of it, at least in the trailer
Eggers making something unhinged and gnarly, is it? shocking. i am shocked
BIG DAY FOR EGG HEADS
kiiiinda hoping my teenage niece will want to ditch the rest of the family and go eat Chinese food and see a scary movie instead🎄
"Fewer wanking jokes than The Lighthouse" - Cahiers du Cinéma
I've been in the bag for Eggers since The Witch, let's go!
only color movie in the last 10 years that has earned being this gray
When I first watched this, I thought Willem Dafoe said, "I've heard of a raving beast that ravished his poultry." (And now so will you.)
PAUL? YOU IS A WERWULF?
Holy shit, das sieht ja unfassbar geil aus D:
Robert Eggers: Say ‘Awooooo!’ Aaron Taylor-Johnson: Awooooo! Robert Eggers: Very good. You are hired.
Robert Eggers is making a Nixon movie?
AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON: "Guess you could say ...I've got that Dog in me." [Bardcore cover of "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT" starts playing]
'In Futurama, President Richard Nixon's head frequently shouts his signature catchphrase "Aroo!" because voice actor Billy West associates Nixon's facial expressions and intense, sweaty demeanor during the 1960 debates with a man on the verge of turning into a werewolf.'
You missed the part where he had to Awoooo in a Middle English accent
Robert Eggers is the only person I would trust to do a Bloodborne film
Aren’t they already doing one directed by JackSepticEye or did I remember that wrong
Bloodborne with Willem Dafoe would be amazing.
It’s wild how much of the look of Bloodborne comes from Brotherhood of the Wolf and Cristophe Gans has fucked Silent Hill movie adaptions, in what I can only believe is retaliation.
Bobby Eggs just can't miss imo
Genuinely love that Willem Dafoe has become to Robert Eggers what Bruce Campbell is to Sam Raimi.
as someone who recently become an egg-head he's gotten the BEST performances out of Dafoe
Eggers has got himself a whole troupe now of gothic players who come back. I kinda love it. It's like an old theater.
Or Johnny Depp to Tim Burton... or Bill Murray to Wes Anderson... or Cillian Murphy to Christopher Nolan... or-
"How do I absolutely torture the living shit out of him on set this time?" A statement that was most likely used by both Eggers and Raimi lmao
Do not dread the darkness. Embrace it. Robert Eggers' WERWULF is only in theaters this Christmas.
Ok, I'm actually hyped! Of course it suffers from "not colorful, grimy medieval" syndrome, but it is gothic horror, I can let it slide this time.
Or this!! What a good year for movies and TV
In Robert Eggers we trust!
me encanta que robert eggers saque sus películas en navidad.. así tengo una excusa para no ir a comer con mi familia
The full moon is here, and with it comes the first trailer for Robert Eggers' WERWULF, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Watch it here.
I don’t think we should be glamorizing the werwulf lifestyle
Hollywood sickos are going to make Werwulfs look “sexy.” Let’s not forget that Werwulfs can scale most fences and kill farm animals, affecting the farmers yield. Is that “sexy?” Didn’t think so.
I don't think we should be shaming people just for being what they are
Too late. *busy tattooing a full moon flag on my inner wrist*
