I know this is kinda a weird observation but I can’t help but roll my eyes at the back of my head when they’re getting an American guy to direct a series where it being Japanese, from Japan, with cultural narrative and context from Japan, is crucial for the plot.

Persona is a game series I love so, so much and have replayed a ton. There is no god damn way they can capture its charm in a series. Even the perfectly well-made anime adaptations suffer because they aren't an INTERACTIVE medium. It just doesn't hit when YOU aren't the one making friendships.

Apparently, Netflix is currently gonna be making a Persona Live Action series. I do think that Persona is one of those video games that can definitely work as a tv show, but I bet that they're gonna suck out all of the soul and creativity that made those games so fun.
