Seiya Suzuki delivered a ninth-inning walk-off single off Mason Miller to give the Chicago Cubs a 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres on June 29. Suzuki finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and his ninth-inning base hit scored the game-winner after the Cubs had rallied to tie the game. Starter Shota Imanaga worked 6.1 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out four in a quality start. Trent Thornton was credited with the win and Jason Adam took the loss. Stat lines shared after the game noted the hit had a 90.0 mph exit velocity, a 34-degree launch angle and a projected distance of 361 feet, which would have been a home run in several ballparks. The victory was reported as the Cubs' 10th walk-off of the season and continued a stretch of strong results for the team.
