Jaylen Brown traded to 76ers for Paul George and draft picks
I was going to wait a few days before publishing this, but alas. Jaylen Brown means so much more to the city of Boston than most will realize, and I had a front-row seat to it for the past 3 years: www.celticsblog.com/boston-celti...
Thank you for this. Jaylen Brown is amazing; this trade is devastating.
He seems like someone you should absolutely build a franchise around. And is Tatum still Tatum? Really? Do we know that for sure? And Tatum kinda melts away at times and Brown never does. I dunno it seems absolutely an insane trade to me. Awful haul for an outstanding teammate and player.
I hope the Celtics front office is ready for the fans reaction at the first game. It won’t be pretty.
Brown gave so much to the community.
I really can’t believe this. Favorite player, traded for nothing…
Him and Marcus are my all-time favorites who never should have been moved
So the Knicks won the title, the Raptors got Kawhi Leonard, the Sixers beat *you* in the playoffs and you trade *them* Jaylen Brown.
You would think trading him to the west might have been a thought, but this works very much in our favor.. now we get some SPICY matchups! We are seeing Bos vs Phi christmas no doubt, book it in
Maybe this year is the Celtics gap year? Embarrassing stuff
It's fine, we got Mitch Robinson.
What just happened with this Jaylen Brown situation? You trade an NBA Finals MVP within the division, to the team that just embarrassed and eliminated you, and the best you get back is a past-his-prime bad contract in Paul George? I just don’t get it.
Its the 2 firsts that they think will i guess translate into at least 1 top 5 pick because [information missing] It more seems Brown wanted out, couldn't work with Tatum long term, word got out, and this was the best they could get when everyone knew they were desperate
An absolutely insane trade, especially after they made such a good signing with mitch robinson I dont get why they didnt value Brown, he led them to a #2 seed in a year when many experts thought they'd possibly be picking in the draft lottery
That's how much they hated him. Philly will definitely be a better city for him, on and off the court.
They didn’t like him speaking up about issues. It’s Boston. Do the math.
too many jaylens in the nba
Can The Sixers Trade Joel Embid To The Knicks For Brunson, Hart & Bridges? Right There, The Sixers Will Definitely Win A Championship #IGuaranteeIt
Jaylen Brown was as present in the community as any star you'll find. His efforts through the 7uice Foundation, the Bridge Program, and Boston XChange highlighted the bond he built with the city.
I can’t think of a Boston athlete that did more for Boston *ever.* This blows.
It's so infuriating. I'm so mad. And disappointed in the Celtics.
I think this is the hardest part of it for me. Always seemed like taking care of the city was his priority.
This is a LARGE part of why this is such a travesty He was great for the team AND the city, and that meant nothing I'll always love the Celtics, but I'm always going to watch JB and wish this stupid trade never happened I'm like sick to my stomach
I get the concerns people have but also swapping the Paul George contract for Jaylen Brown at the price of two firsts is obviously worth it if you want to have any chance salvaging one last run at the Embiid era.
Joel still has 3 years and $188 million left on his contract so it was always either going to be "start an excruciating rebuild" or "try something insane" this offseason. They went with the more fun one!
Do Philly fans really have concerns? Celtics fans are in shambles to the point of some calling for Stevens' head.
ESPN's Shams Charania on SportsCenter: "My understanding is Jaylen Brown, throughout all of this, never requested a trade. He never asked out of Boston. This was all the Celtics."
Shameful from the Celtics. Genuinely embarrassing for everyone involved.
Got rid of JB and signed MAGA Mitch
they lost one playoff series to the sixers and then decided they needed to blow the entire thing up
If you ever have imposter syndrome please think of the Celtics front office.
Fuck Bill Chisholm, and fuck the Boston Celtics.
Fuck this shit. Celtics lost me with this one.
