Bird of the Day, theme 'Bath Time'

Today's Bird of the Day is the Bath Time theme, with an alternate theme of Finches chosen by Rob. Participants are sharing birds caught mid-wash and finch portraits, from backyard pigeons and a chaotic flock of mallards splashing to shorebirds and waterbirds rinsing off. Notable posts show a pigeon squeezing into a garden bird bath, a brown pelican repeatedly bathing offshore at the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, and a rufous-tailed hummingbird bathing on a water-filled leaf. Other specific entries include a Double-barred Finch at Archerfield Wetlands and a Little Tern having a wash in the sea.
