Two people have been killed and three others wounded in a shooting near a Toronto street festival, police say.

I am horrified by the news of the shooting at the Salsa on St. Clair festival in Toronto. My thoughts are with the friends and families of the two people killed in this act of senseless violence, and I am wishing those injured a fast and smooth recovery.

“I am devastated by the senseless violence at the Salsa on St. Clair Festival that has claimed two lives and injured others,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said in a social media post. “My thoughts are with the victims, their families and everyone affected."
