Today's Bird of the Day theme is Gulls, with an alternate theme of Paridae. The gallery is mostly nature and wildlife photography showing gulls at harbors and rocky cliffs, gulls in flight and splashdown sequences, and small tit family members at feeders or baths. Specific posts include a ring-billed gull described as unimpressed, a series of images of a juvenile laughing gull lifting out of the water, and several Paridae examples such as a Coal Tit, a Black-capped Chickadee, and a tufted titmouse. I posted a black-and-white photo of this a while ago; here is a close-up in color of a young Great black-backed gull. The bird sits on a skerry of layered slate rock and the green fjord and shoreline make up the blurry background.

That's a great shot of a cute little guy. I like how you caught him just off the peak of the iron loop. They're supposed to be native to central Iowa, but I haven't seen one in ages. I suspect maybe the sparrows out-compete them.
