Bird of the Day is a daily community event; today's primary theme is Sitting Down On The Job, birds sitting on the floor or ground, and the alternate theme is Yellow, birds with yellow in their plumage. The gallery features grounded subjects and relaxed scenes, from sunning robins and seated Atlantic puffins to loafing waterfowl and perched warblers, often photographed in natural settings. Notable entries include an American white pelican fishing while seated in Longmont, Colorado; Canada geese with yellow goslings in Rocky Mountain National Park; and a Crested Caracara resting at Celery Fields in Sarasota, Florida.
