Mets acquire prospects Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick for A.J. Minter

The Minnesota Twins acquired left-handed reliever A.J. Minter from the New York Mets, and the Mets received infield prospects Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick in the swap, sources including Will Sammon and ESPN reported. Star Tribune and other local reports say Amick is playing at Double-A and brings power but has contact and position questions. Bruin Agbayani is the son of former Mets outfielder Benny Agbayani and has been out much of the season with a rotator cuff injury after a strong start at Single-A, according to reports; one outlet ranked him roughly No. 22 in the Mets system. MLB Pipeline listings cited in coverage place Amick and Agbayani around the low-20s to high-20s among Twins and Mets prospects. The trade sends a veteran bullpen arm to Minnesota as they chase late-season relief help and returns two young, toolsy infielders to New York while Agbayani continues his recovery and Amick remains at Double-A with questions about his long-term position.
