Ted Lasso Season 4 premiered on Apple TV on Wednesday, Aug. 5, with Episode 1 now available to subscribers. Jason Sudeikis’s Ted Lasso returns to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s football team, a shift Apple TV described as the characters taking chances they never thought they would. Apple staged cast premieres in Los Angeles and Brooklyn to celebrate the season’s return. Portions of the new season were filmed at CPKC Park during a Kansas City Current match, and the NWSL’s involvement has been noted by league officials. The original Ted Lasso debuted on Apple TV in 2020 and earned 20 Emmy nominations for its first season in 2021; the first three seasons remain available to paid subscribers. After the Aug. 5 debut, Apple TV will release one new episode each Wednesday through Oct. 7.

I didn’t start it until a few months ago and the first season is great but the Scrubs guy turns it into a drama and while it is nice to see the characters grow and develop as people, it seems a bit silly and cringe heading into the final season.

I think people built it up because great comedy series are so rare, and it was refreshing in that it was warm, not cynical. But it's just that: a great comedy with a warm heart. First season is def. best.
