Today’s Bird of the Day is the Warblers theme, with an alternate theme of Ducklings. The gallery features close-up warbler portraits and field shots, including a Black-and-white Warbler in high-contrast borb mode, a singing Common Whitethroat, and a perched Audubon’s Yellow-rumped Warbler on a Black Hawthorn. Duckling entries include a mother mallard leading ducklings at sunrise and a young Gadwall brood at Clot Del Galvany. Other noted warblers shown are a Magnolia Warbler, a prairie warbler, and a Townsend’s Warbler foraging along a river.

Great shot, though in Munich we'd call that a light load. Got one Merganser with 19 ducklings this year, of which 16 survived the first weeks.

Great shot. I remember seeing one for the first time on a visit to Central Park with 'Birding Bob'. Spectacular. The warblers we have in the UK are touch more subtle.
