Nottingham Forest working on £40m deal for Harrison Armstrong

sportsAug 29, 202634566

Nottingham Forest are working on a deal to sign Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong for around £40 million plus a sell-on clause. The 19-year-old has made 22 first-team appearances for Everton and has had loan spells at Derby County and Preston North End. Forest want another central midfielder after England international Elliot Anderson moved to Manchester City for a fee of £116 million earlier in the window. Austria international Xaver Schlager has started Forest’s opening two games after joining as a free agent from RB Leipzig, but the club remain hopeful of adding Armstrong to Oliver Glasner’s squad. Everton have reshaped their midfield this summer too, signing Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard and making Merlin Rohl’s loan from Freiburg permanent. Talks are ongoing between the clubs as the transfer window progresses.
