Blue Sky Art Show, theme 'Summer'

photographyAug 29, 202640521,869

The Blue Sky Art Show is a weekly community event with the theme #Summer today. Submissions center on summer landscapes, gardens and wildlife, plus a few crafted interpretations such as an appliqué art quilt titled "Summer Bounty." Look for coastal sunrises and mountain lakes like Colpoy's Bay and Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe, close-up flower studies such as a cobalt Royal Ensign dwarf morning glory, and wildlife images including a heron standing in evening sun and an American red squirrel at the Old Quarry in Ottawa.

It's the only Earth we've got! For everyone alive now, IT'S THE ONLY ONE WE'LL EVER HAVE! Fucking hell, we are so bloody stupid!

Absolutely, Gina! Our Earth-mama is not feeling well and needs our care.

In nature there is joy, and for me that is the woods. In a world gone mad, like usual, there is still a place to go to escape for awhile. For now.

Yvette Tapptico2

The single most impactful decision we human animals do for mother earth is to go PLANT-BASED. We are imbued with free will on such matters, if we live in regions where crops have not been decimated by the climate changes Animal Ag has already caused.

Summer in the mountains doesn’t get much better than this. Forested valleys, rugged ridgelines, lingering snow, and clouds rolling through a bright blue sky. #BlueSkyArtShow #summer #pnw #photography #landscape #landscapephotography #washington #mountains #nature

A sweeping summer mountain view in the North Cascades framed by towering evergreens, with dense green forest dropping into a deep valley below. Rugged ridgelines rise on both sides, streaked with lingering patches of snow, while bright white clouds drift through a vivid blue sky above.

cleopete1

There's still snow lingering in the mountains of Washington? That's encouraging.

Neo-Idaho Judy1

You are not near any of the raging wildfires obviously. Our mountains are barely visible through the smoke. Year after year.

Looks like a fiberglass outer coating, maybe placed over the original wooden construction to keep it floating. Eventually the keel rotted and that was it for this boat. Cool photos tell stories, especially when there are boats involved.

#BlueskyArtShow #Summer Vacationers on a smoky beach at Silver Lake, California (Kit Carson). Unfortunately, wildfires are also a big part of summer. #ECK #HumansOfBluesky #Smoke #Vacation #SierraNevada #WestCoastKin #ForestFriday

A group of adults and children are at a beach on Silver Lake (Kit Carson) In the Sierra Nevada mountains. The adults and one boy are on the shore while another person is out in the lake riding a red kayak. There are pine trees that come down to the edge of the lake, and there is a small island nearby that has pine trees growing. The air is very smoky; you can barely see across the lake and the photo has a brownish tint to it. The smoke also obscures the sun, so there aren't any shadows.

I still want to swim to that island some sunny day… What a tease!

Alma R Ramirez 🤣2

My type of joy and relaxing 😎 and NO Internet reading about Trump's destruction of the USA

Marjo Slingerland-Boks1

Always sad the wildfires are everywhere in summer Alina😳 This is such a wonderful photo with this view and mood🧡

Jetgurl1

Silver and Caples are my favorite lakes of all time. The trails are like no other, and take you high above the Sierras and into volcanic lakes high above. It’s just stunning, but the memories will have to do. Thanks for a great picture!

A brilliant view of a beautiful landscape, Alina! 🌊✨💙

#Summer in my garden. Pond trickling, bees buzzing, butterfly’s waiting for the sundial’s time to shine. Moments like this cannot be missed, summer will disappear and the cold northerly’s will start to blow. I hope your weekend is full of sunlight. #Ireland #BlueSkyArtShow #photography #ECK

A Small Tortoiseshell butterfly rests on my weathered stone sundial in my garden, its vivid orange wings patterned with black and yellow markings and delicate blue spots along the edges. The butterfly’s wings are open in the morning sunlight, contrasting beautifully with the muted, textured stone, while a soft green garden background creates a natural, peaceful setting.

And now your garden is also a small petting zoo!

Marjo Slingerland-Boks1

Today's #BlueskyArtShow theme is #summer. I made this image from Chebeague Island off the coast of Maine last month. This birch tree is very special to a dear friend of mine who has a cottage there. I wanted to memorialize it into something timeless. #photography #landscape #ECK #astrophotography
