Rafael Devers homered off Bryce Elder, a 403-foot, 107.3 mph solo blast with a 31° launch angle, to give San Francisco a 1-0 lead in the top of the first and register his 30th home run of the season. The shot came on an 87.5 mph cutter and also ended Elder's bid for a perfect game, with Devers breaking it up with one out in the first inning. This is Devers' fifth career 30-homer season and his second straight season with 30-plus homers, the first time he has done that in his career. The homer continues a recent shift for the Giants: no Giants player hit 30 homers in a season from 2005 through 2024, Willy Adames reached 30 on the final day of 2025, and now Devers hit No. 30 before September.
