Bird of the Day, theme 'Pairs'

Bird of the Day is running the theme Pairs, asking for photos that include pairs of the same species, with an alternate theme Green for images that feature green backgrounds. Entries show paired subjects across habitats, from a pair of juvenile Barn Owls in a church belfry in South Wales to a pair of Puffins with green behind them and Oyster Catchers flying in formation. Other standout posts include Sandhill Cranes, a displaying pair of Great Crested Grebes at El Hondo, and hyacinth macaws messing about in a palm tree at Jaguar Eco Lodge in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Look for shorebirds, waterfowl, garden pairs, and small birds doubling up, and tag your post with #Pairs or the alt #Green to join in.

A pair of fledgling wrens perched on branches in the forest. The birds are either side of the centre of the shot, both facing the camera but turned slightly towards the left so that their left sides are showing.
Both birds are quite round in shape with their tails standing up behind them. They have slender, yellow beaks with a large mouth gape. They are brown, darker on the back than on the underparts. They have white stripe above the eyebrow and the wings and tail have delicate barring.
The one on the right is perched on the end of a small, cut branch while the one on the right is straddling two branches, one of which continues up between the birds in the foreground. Another couple of branches can be seen behind the bird in the right.
The background is an out of focus green from the forest vegetation
