The Blue Sky Art Show is a weekly community art event with this edition themed "Lights," inviting contributors to show how light shapes scenes. Submissions today feature landscapes lit by sunbeams and storms, urban neon and lamplight, and curated light installations, with standout images like sunbeams and storm clouds over Loch Arkaig, a thunderstorm observed at French Beach, and the Sensorio hills covered in thousands of color-shifting solar lights. Other notable pieces depict a giant light atop the St. Marks Lighthouse, paper-lantern-style lights in a hotel atrium, a spiderweb sparkling in morning sunlight, neon cafe lights in Soho, and a subtle mountain-ridge glow in the French Alps. Scan the gallery for contrasts between harsh storm light and warm twilight, intimate close-ups of lamp details, and large-scale installations interpreting the Lights theme.

It is just after dusk and the thousands of colored lights are illuminated. They cover the rolling hills with many different colors, giving the effect of patches of glowing wildflowers. The golfball sized lights are on a stem, so if it is breezy, they will sway with the breeze. They are placed close together to maximize the color and effect. Not seen at night are the scattered small solar panels placed throughout the exhibit. There are paths through the light, so visitors can walk through the fields. Sensorio has added other light exhibits as well, but this is my favorite. Located in Paso Robles, California as a permanent display.
