Man charged after Molotov attack at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's home
A 20-year-old Texas man threw a Molotov-type device at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's San Francisco home, igniting a fire at the front gate. Police arrested the suspect after finding him at OpenAI's San Francisco headquarters, where he threatened to burn the building. Prosecutors charged him with attempted murder and filed federal counts, saying he traveled with documents advocating violence against AI.
The man charged with attempted murder and attempted arson for allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail-like device at the home of Sam Altman also appeared to have written a document that included the names and addresses of other executives, investors and board members of A.I. companies.
