Police use rubber bullets and pepper spray on activists at Wisconsin beagle facility

About 1,000 animal welfare activists tried to breach Ridglan Farms, a private beagle breeding and research facility in Wisconsin, attempting to reach pens housing thousands of dogs. State and local police and private security fired rubber bullets, deployed pepper spray and used tear gas to push protesters back as some tried to cross barbed wire and manure-filled trenches. Authorities arrested Wayne Hsiung and several other activists; officials said the facility remained secure and no animals were removed.
