Rumen Radev’s Progressive Bulgaria leads in election, exit polls show

politicsApr 19, 202653344

Exit polls give Rumen Radev’s Progressive Bulgaria roughly 37 to 38 percent of the vote in Sunday’s parliamentary election. That share is well short of the 121-seat majority in Bulgaria’s 240-seat National Assembly, so Progressive Bulgaria will need coalition partners to form a government. Radev, a pro-Russian eurosceptic WHO has called Crimea Russian and opposes military support for Ukraine, could push Bulgaria toward less support for Ukraine if his coalition holds power.
