scienceApr 19, 2026154,565

Artemis II commander Reid Wiseman posted uncropped iPhone footage of an Earthset from the mission's lunar far side, posting on X that it was "Only one chance in this lifetime." Wiseman said he could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but captured the view with an iPhone using 8x zoom, and the clip is uncropped and uncut. The video shows Earth setting behind the Moon during Artemis II's far-side transit, the first time humans have gone around the Moon's far side in 54 years. Rochester Institute of Technology alumni trained Artemis II astronauts in photography, a skill the crew used to frame the shot.
