Nesrine Malik: Trump’s presidency is 'absurd, frightening, cruel'

Nesrine Malik lists Donald Trump as "a liar, a bully, a boaster, a womaniser, a warmonger and a prejudiced hater," saying those traits amount to evil. Malik warns that Trump's lack of coherent ideology and ludicrous public persona trick people into underestimating the threat, writing "it’s hard for the human brain to encounter evil in ludicrous form, and still recognise it as such." She says the officials and aides WHO enable Trump "must be held responsible" for allowing his conduct to continue. Malik adds that "evil is composed of frivolity and nonchalance and fragility, as well as relentlessness and insatiability and brutality" and warns that combination increases the real-world danger of his policies.
