Russia to suspend Kazakh oil flows to Germany via Druzhba

newsApr 22, 2026106

Russia plans to halt Kazakh crude shipments through the northern branch of the Druzhba pipeline to Germany starting May 1. The suspension targets deliveries to the PCK Schwedt refinery near the Polish border, which processes that crude and supplies about 90% of Berlin and Brandenburg's petrol, kerosene and heating fuel, including fuel for Berlin Brandenburg Airport. German officials say the stoppage would cut the refinery's crude feed and force Berlin to reroute supplies, step up rail and tanker imports, or draw on strategic reserves to avoid shortages.
