WIRED obtained internal Slack messages and interviews showing Palantir employees raising moral concerns about the company’s government and defense work, with several asking "Are we the bad guys?". Current and former staff described unease over projects tied to government agencies and defense contractors, saying some work may cause harm. Palantir’s software is integrated into projects run by Accenture, Deloitte, Lockheed Martin, RTX, and Northrop Grumman, and Palantir engineers often serve as subcontractors on those contracts, so employee dissent could affect national security and public administration programs.
