Lions draft Jimmy Rolder, No. 118

The Detroit Lions selected Michigan linebacker Jimmy Rolder with the No. 118 pick in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Rolder was the Lions' first Day 3 selection and posted a 9.51 Relative Athletic Score, ranking higher than 95.1 percent of linebackers WHO have tested since 1987. The pick adds competition to Detroit's linebacker room and gives the team a high-athleticism, run-support option WHO will help on special teams and in base defense.

Lions taking Jimmy Rolder over Kyle Louis is fine. It's boring. But it's fine. He'll be in the WILL rotation next to Jack Campbell. Pretty good athlete. Has some Jarrad Davis tendencies where an LB coach is going to need to stand behind him and hold his shirt off the snap ... wayyy too aggressive

there is no way Spielman didn't absolutely love Jimmy Rolder -- so that makes sense Kyle Louis would've signified a bit of a philosophical change defensively. That is not happening, as Rolder fits what they do currently pretty well.
