Alien Day, fans celebrate LV-426 anniversary

moviesApr 26, 2026891,741

On April 26, fans marked Alien Day (LV-426) with new visual tributes, including a foam-faced performer captioned "the perfect organism" and an image of a hat-wearing, cane-holding lizard statue dancing. Contributions ranged from a Ripley and Jonesy watercolor originally made in 2021 to a dedicated "Happy ALIEN Day 2026" piece by Miss Indulgence for supporters. Creators and collectors questioned the authenticity and provenance of AI-generated Alien images, underscoring ongoing legal and creative tensions and showing how the franchise still fuels fan creativity decades after the films' release.

The commercial towing vessel Nostromo touched down on the planet LV-426. Heavy thick atmosphere, rain and dust, the only light is from the ships landing lights depoled from beneath the vessell.

A humanoid alien with large black eyes and pale skin gestures while looking directly ahead. Overlaid text reads: “So let me get this straight… You grow food to feed the animals so you can eat the animals? Sure, keep telling yourself you are a highly evolved species.” The image critiques the inefficiency and ethical contradiction of using crops to raise animals for consumption.

My pencil and ink drawing of Hudson, flashing his grin, from ALIENS (1986). This isn't a direct reference shot from the film, but something that I devised. I'm a huge Bill Paxton fan, so this one was extra special to draw. I like to think of it as a photo that one of Hudson's buddies took before they went on that express elevator to hell!

Minimates action figures: In an AEW wrestling ring, Mariah May is in a yellow powerloader exoskeleton and she is holding a championship belt with one hand. Her other hand is outstretched with the powerloader's arm, which is grasping a battle-damaged Xenomorph with Timeless Toni Storm's head. The Xenomorph is watching and reaching her hand towards Mariah. ---- I did a few of these Hollywood Endings ahead of AEW Revolution last year. This is one of my favorites of the set. I really like how it turned out. The way that they're both posed is what I was going for. (Something something Xenomorph subtext something what)
