Elon Musk testifies at OpenAI lawsuit, says execs hijacked his early contribution
Elon Musk testified Tuesday in the Musk v. Altman trial, saying OpenAI executives hijacked the nonprofit he helped launch and converted it into a for-profit that leveraged his early funding and reputation. Musk told jurors he originated the idea for OpenAI and accused leaders including Sam Altman of trying to 'steal' the charity's assets and mission as they pushed the company toward commercialization. He framed the dispute as an AI safety issue, warning 'If you have someone that's not trustworthy in charge of AI, I think that's very dangerous to the whole world,' and urged limits on who controls powerful AI projects. The lawsuit will decide who controls OpenAI's board and governance, which could shape how the leading AI developer balances profit, oversight, and risk management.
in a fight between sam altman and elon musk i’m rooting for a sinkhole
As we in our family say when the New York Giants play the Dallas Cowboys, I hope the ground opens up and swallows both of them
If there was ever a time for 30 to 50 feral hogs...
Prospective Juror: Can we find them both guilty? Judge: This is a civil trial. PJ: … J: … PJ: Right. But can we still find them both guilty?
I see your sinkhole and raise you an asteroid.
I am also rooting for the aliens. Ack! Ack!
The Capitol Police could give her an explainer. bsky.app/profile/mr-y...
For the sinkhole’s sake, I hope there’s a hole on the other end.
Elon Musk’s ex and former MAGA social media influencer Ashley St. Clair joins Rick Wilson to expose the truth behind the MAGA influencer ecosystem—how it works, who profits, and why it’s starting to fall apart in real time. WATCH NOW: https://youtu.be/gxzlj_mLD1I
You just know Elon is trembling with vitriol at this episode, which brings me immense joy. Really good stuff Rick, thoroughly enjoyed the episode.
Was Limbaugh an 'influencer'? The 1500 coordinated talk radio stations repeating the same lies that these 'influencers' grew up on and parrot are still the problem. Bongino inherited half the Limbaugh show but he's a podcaster? Limbaugh had a podcast. Rssn disiinfo ops piggybacked and fed
Elon Musk's trial vs Sam Altman & OpenAI has begun • Musk's team tried to position him as a good guy with a 'humanitarian concern' about AI • A prospective juror said Musk is 'a greedy, racist, homophobic piece of garbage' • Judge denied removing some potential jurors who were negative about Musk
“The reality is that people don’t like him… Many people don’t like him, but that doesn’t mean that Americans nevertheless can’t have integrity for the judicial process" www.theverge.com/ai-artificia...
give that juror a medal
Two men with punchable faces.
The mean girls are fighting. May both of them be flung into the sun.
who am i supposed to root for i hate them both
The judge hated the juror for speaking facts lol
SNL is gonna have gold material for this.
To know Elon is to hate Elon. You’d have to go to… I don’t know… North Sentinel Island?… If you’re looking for people who are impartial to Elon Musk at this point in history
Jury selection in the Elon Musk v. Sam Altman/OpenAI case is complicated by the fact that potential jurors have a negative view of AI and Elon Musk:
It would be incredibly easy to find jurors that hate both of them, just do that.
"is there any verdict we can return that's bad for everyone involved"
If you have enough money to buy yourself universal hatred you never need to face justice!
Oh boy, that'll be fun finding an impartial jury for the shooting case too.
Maybe the solution is to just declare a mistrial and yeet both of them into the sun?
First civil case where the jury wants to condemn both sides to the death penalty.
“Your honor, we find both parties guilty of crimes against humanity”
the last time I saw Musk in court, he put on a helluva show. this time? not so much www.theverge.com/ai-artificia...
I cut this from the story bc it wasn't really that important but Musk did potentially open some doors for the defense to inquire about the way he represented his time at previous companies, if they want to make him look unreliable before we even get to OpenAI's existence
Couldn’t they just both be thrown into a pit, left to cannibalize each other for survival?
I see you citing me there, Ms Funnier Than Me in Writing who also sends me into a jealous rage due to her talent! Also thank you.
I wouldn't have thought ketamine needed to be shipped through the strait of hormuz, so there goes my theory.
