Using Snapseed, I cropped out all of the buildings to focus on the road & sky. I made the photo vertical and used HDR and Curves for snow and cloud texture & visibility. I accentuated depth to show the street had been driven on & plowed, with snow pushed to the side of the street to show more visibility of the tire tracks. Grain and tone changed for better overall detail. The photo is texturized from top to bottom with focus on winter weather.

Small brown Meadow Pipit perched on top of a weathered wooden fence post, facing left. The bird shows fine dark streaking on its buff chest and back, a pale eye ring, and a slender bill. Barbed wire runs horizontally behind the post. The background is softly blurred in warm, earthy tones, making the bird stand out in sharp detail. That parachute song flight Males launch upward and then drift back down slowly, singing as they go—often described as a “parachute” display. Once you notice it, you’ll hear them everywhere in spring. A key species in the food chain They’re an important prey species for birds like kestrels and merlins—so healthy pipit numbers support raptors too. Cuckoo connection They’re one of the main hosts of the Common Cuckoo. Cuckoos lay eggs in pipit nests, leaving the pipits to raise the chick.

Photograph taken at the Tudor beauty, Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire. Used a black and white filter for drama, though most of the image is monochrome anyway. Apart from the apotropaic marks and the long gallery, this window is in my top three favourite bits of the house. Without the filter, the rectangles of glass in the bottom two panes are a beautiful chartreuse colour. Image shows a large bay window of Tudor design. Above the window, added to the dark wood in white are the words; 'Rycharde Dale Carpeder, Made Thies Windovs by the Grace of God'. Richard was a master craftsman and I'm rather pleased he got to celebrate his name so proudly. Each face of the bay, has 3 x 3 panes of leaded glass in an intricate repeating pattern of diamonds, rectangles and lozenges. The window is set within an external wall of a dark wood vertical wooden frame, with distinctive white infill, typical of Tudor design. Little Moreton Hall was built in stages between 1504 - 1610 and is run by The National Trust.
