Roger Sweet, the Mattel designer credited with creating the original He-Man action figure, died at 91. Sweet developed the initial He-Man prototype in 1982 and helped oversee Mattel's Masters of the Universe toy line. That toy line launched the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon and turned the character into a global merchandising franchise. Sweet's designs reshaped 1980s toy marketing and continue to influence reboots, collectibles, and recent film adaptations.
