Roger Sweet, He-Man creator, dies at 91
Roger Sweet, a Mattel designer credited with creating the original He-Man action figure, died at 91. He oversaw development of the Masters of the Universe toy line that became the basis for the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon and widespread merchandising. Sweet's prototype and design work turned He-Man into a flagship 1980s pop-culture property that shaped action-figure marketing and continues to inspire comics, animation, and new revivals.
Roger Sweet, the creator of He-Man, has sadly passed away at the age of 91 following a multi-year battle with dementia.
Rest easy, Roger. We’ll miss ya.
He truly did have the power. May he rest in peace.
In a way he did have the power if he could live this long with multiple years of dementia at that age may he finally rest in peace and be free of the disease that hurt him.
