Yara warns Iran war could cause fertiliser shortages in Africa

Yara's CEO warned that the Iran war could trigger a global fertiliser auction that would leave Africa's poorest countries scrambling for supplies. The world's largest fertiliser firm says such a scramble would drive up prices and cause shortages, producing "dramatic consequences" for food production in vulnerable African communities. Because fertiliser underpins crop yields, disrupted supply and higher costs could quickly translate into widespread food insecurity and higher global food prices.
