Yara warns Iran war could cause fertiliser shortages in Africa

Yara's chief executive warned that the Iran war risks triggering a global fertiliser auction that would leave the poorest countries scrambling for supplies. The world's largest fertiliser firm said a prolonged conflict could drive steep price rises and food shortages in several of Africa's most vulnerable nations. Because fertiliser underpins crop yields, constrained supplies and higher costs would exacerbate hunger and push up food prices for import-dependent African countries.
