Free Comic Book Day, May 2 store giveaways

Free Comic Book Day took place Saturday, May 2, with comic shops nationwide handing out free issues and hosting in-store signings and community events. Publishers brought special releases for the day, including ABLAZE’s revived series The Cimmerian, while many stores ran prize drawings and distributed exclusive prints. Local events ranged from creator signings to community tables in places such as Campbelltown, with attendees leaving with signed copies and limited-edition art. The event matters because it funnels new readers into local shops, supports creators and retailers, and offers collectible issues collectors will seek out.
