Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman clashed this week in a federal courtroom in Oakland during a trial over control of OpenAI. On the witness stand Musk warned that advanced AI poses an existential risk and said he had been a "fool" for投资ing $38 million that helped build what he called an $800 billion company. U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers sharply rebuked Musk for inflammatory online posts about Altman, telling him he could not spin the narrative inside her courtroom. The face-off matters because the verdict could determine who controls OpenAI and set legal and governance precedents for one of the world’s most powerful AI companies.
