Miami Grand Prix chaos, Verstappen spins and Isack Hadjar disqualified
On lap one of the Miami Grand Prix Max Verstappen spun and dropped through the order, allowing Charles Leclerc to seize the race lead. Race control deployed the safety car after Pierre Gasly and Isack Hadjar independently slammed into the barriers; both exited their cars and Hadjar was visibly angry. Isack Hadjar had been disqualified from qualifying and therefore started from the pit lane on hard tires while most drivers began on medium tires, forcing teams to rethink strategy. The early chaos reshuffles the championship contenders and makes tire choices and pit timing decisive for the rest of the race.
PENALTY: 20-second time penalty (drive through added post-race) for Leclerc for leaving the track on several occasions without a justifiable reason Drops him from P6 to P8 behind Hamilton and Colapinto #F1 #MiamiGP

Post race investigations to come. How Max gets away with just an investigation for crossing the pit exit line is beyond understanding, as is why the FIA can't make a decision on it during the race. #F1 #MiamiGP

Farinho_106They'd rather keep him in play if it means there's chaos to be caused in the later stages. Giving him the penalty immediately eradicates that jeopardy. Either that or favouritism, and we've totally not seen that before...

Waiting til after the race to investigate means he wouldn’t have to serve the penalty in the pits if he were to pit again, given they all saw how early he had to pit after spinning and cooking his tires (where he came out for that pit exit)
